Why a reach-in

The smallest closet, the biggest difference.

A builder-grade reach-in is one rod and one shelf. Everything above the shelf is wasted, everything below the rod is a pile. A custom reach-in uses the full height of the wall and the full width of the opening, so the same footprint holds roughly twice the clothing and all of it stays visible.

Double hang

Two rods stacked in one section. Shirts up top, pants folded over hangers below. This one change is where most of the extra capacity comes from.

Drawers where the floor pile was

A drawer bank in the center or on one side replaces the dresser fighting for space in the bedroom. Soft-close, sized to what you actually store.

Shoes off the floor

Angled or flat shoe shelving, sized to your pairs, in the corner that used to collect everything.

Adjustable for life

Every shelf and rod sits on the 32mm system, so it moves when your needs do. A kid's closet grows up without a rebuild.

How it works

Three steps, one visit to your home.

We measure your closet at a free in-home consultation and design it with you in 3D on the spot, so you see your exact closet before you commit. You get an exact price in writing, not a starting-at number. The system is cut to order to our spec, assembled and staged in our Gaithersburg workshop, and installed by our own team in 2 to 3 weeks. You inspect the finished closet before the balance is due.

FAQ

Real questions. Straight answers.

How much does a custom reach-in closet cost?

Less than a walk-in, and it depends on the width of the opening, the drawer count, and the finish. We do not quote from a chart. We measure, design it in 3D, and give you an exact price in writing at your free consultation. For published market ranges, see our Maryland cost guide.

Can you fit a custom system in a standard 6-foot reach-in?

Yes. Most bedroom reach-ins are 5 to 8 feet wide, and that is the range we design for most often. The system is cut to your exact opening, so there are no filler panels and no wasted inches.

Do you remove the old shelf and rod?

Yes. Removing the old shelf and rod is part of the installation. Ask us about wall patching at your consultation.

How long does a reach-in closet take to install?

The build takes 2 to 3 weeks after you approve the design, then our own team installs it.

Can I keep the existing closet doors?

Usually, yes. We design around your door type, whether bifold, sliding, or hinged. If sliding doors block part of the opening, we will show you in the 3D design how the layout works around them.

Do you do kids' closets?

Often. A kids' reach-in is designed low now and adjusts up later. Because every shelf and rod sits on the 32mm system, the same closet works at age 6 and age 16 without a rebuild.
